NETWORKING VIDEO SURVEILLANCE IS A STEP TOWARDS NEW ADVANTAGES AND COST SAVINGS

The impressive success of powerful IP networks in companies and public institutions has led to a revolution in the cable TV business. Although today only a small percentage of all video surveillance systems use network-based solutions, the arguments for this new technology are indisputable.

Video data is available over the Internet anywhere in the world, giving You the ability to centrally control various zones, even if they are distributed around the world. In addition, integration with external security systems such as fire alarm systems, access control systems, and others can be easily achieved. The possible applications for IP video surveillance solutions are simply unlimited.

Existing analog systems can be combined into network-based systems. This significantly minimizes the cost of upgrading the existing system. There is no need for such components of analog systems as multiplexers and video recorders. As a result, the network accepts their functions.

If the analog camera needs to be moved, significant cable connections are required, while the network camera only requires a network connection. The camera is immediately accessible via a standard browser or software. This advantage allows you to significantly increase the power of the video surveillance system, increasing the number of devices in the network, but, of course, taking into account the bandwidth of communication lines.

In IP-based video surveillance systems, there is no restriction on simultaneous processing of video images. Image processing at a speed of 1,000 frames per second is a very real technology, if you have the necessary network bandwidth. Thanks to new data compression methods, video data requires extremely small volumes and can be restored within seconds from the archive using various search criteria.
